Fun events for the whole family at the Patmos Library!
Want to make healthy eating easier? Join Kirsten Miller for a free class on meal planning and discover simple tips for preparing nutritious, flavorful meals with fresh ingredients. Participants will also enjoy a make-and-take healthy quinoa salad. September 11 at 2:00 PM in the Depot Room. Registration is required.
Looking for a fun, low-pressure playtime for your little one? Join us every Monday from 1:00–3:00 p.m., beginning September 14, for Open Play Labs at Patmos Library! Children can explore a variety of self-guided play stations, including Play-Doh, felt activities, crafts, and more. Activities may change each week, offering something new to discover. This is a self-serve program, so caregivers are asked to remain with their children and help tidy up before leaving.
Join us for Storytime at Patmos Library every Wednesday in September! We have a fun variety of stories and special activities planned for children throughout the month. September 2 will feature Children Make Terrible Pets, followed by A is for Apple on September 9. On September 16, we’ll have a special Storytime with Parkside Farms and their pygmy goat! There will be no Storytime on September 23, and we’ll finish the month with Why, Hello Scarecrow! on September 30. Come enjoy stories, learning, and plenty of fall fun!
Support Patmos Library by dining at Culver’s of Jenison during our Share Night fundraiser! Join us on Tuesday, September 22, from 5:00–8:00 PM, and a portion of all sales during the event will be donated to Patmos Library. Gather your family and friends for a delicious meal while helping support library programs and services. Location: Culver’s of Jenison, 7393 Cottonwood Drive, Jenison, MI 49428

Share ideas, learn from others, or simply enjoy some good company while you work. All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced makers. When: The 2nd Wednesday of each month, 2–4 p.m.
Begins: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
Ages: 14 and up
Bring: Your current craft project and any supplies you need
Snacks provided!
Calling all LEGO builders! Join us for our brand-new LEGO Club, meeting the first Monday of each month from 6–7:30 p.m., beginning Monday, October 5. We’re working on building our own collection of LEGO bricks for everyone to use and enjoy. Until then, please bring one gallon-sized bag of your own LEGO bricks per person to each club meeting. At the beginning of each meeting, participants will receive fun, random challenges and building prompts to inspire their creations. Build, experiment, get creative, and see what you can come up with!
Patmos Pokémon Club is coming back for Fall 2026! Join us for some Pokémon fun beginning September 17. The club meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 4–5 p.m. and is open to children ages 6–12. Bring your Pokémon cards to trade with other club members and join us for a Pokémon-themed craft. Whether you’re a longtime Pokémon fan or just getting started, there’s plenty of fun to be had!
Bad Art Night — Where talent is optional and chaos is inevitable! Teens ages 11–18 are invited to Patmos Library for a night of wildly questionable creativity on Monday, September 28, from 6–8 p.m. The goal is simple: make the worst art possible! Participants will receive random mystery supplies and ridiculous creative prompts and will have zero pressure to create anything “good.” No artistic skills are required, no judgment is allowed, and the uglier the art, the better! There may even be some completely unofficial awards along the way. Come ready to get creative, have fun, and embrace your inner terrible artist! No registration necessary!
Create something useful for your next library visit! Join us on Tuesday, September 29 from 3–5 p.m. in the Depot Room for our Make & Take Your Own Book Tote craft. Participants will design and decorate a reusable canvas tote bag using stencils, fabric paint, markers, and other supplies provided by the library. Once your masterpiece is complete, take it home and use it for library books, groceries, or whatever else you need! This is an all-ages event, and everyone is welcome. No registration necessary — limited quanities available, first come first serve.
Kick off the new school year with Patmos Library at our Back to School Bash on Saturday, September 12 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.! Stop by for a fun, family-friendly open house filled with activities and resources to help get everyone ready for the school year. We’ll have a decorate-a-water-bottle station, a back-to-school bracelet craft, school lunch planning and recipe ideas, giveaways for kids and parents, and more. Come celebrate the start of a new school year with us! No registration necessary — limited supplies, first come first serve.
