MOBILE HOTSPOTS
This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through a grant administered by the Library of Michigan.
What are Mobile Hotspots?
Mobile Hotspots are small devices that give users access to wireless internet as long as it is within T-Mobile coverage area. Although some areas may be faster than others, all of Jamestown has coverage. Click here to check the coverage map.
What can I do with it?
Mobile Hotspots allow you to access the internet via a Wi-Fi enabled device – anywhere, anytime. That means you can send and receive emails, browse social media, read the news, and more. The world is at your fingertips! Please note: Streaming services are not included with the hotspot. If you wish to stream media, you must have an account with the relevant service.
Are there any restrictions on what I can do with it?
WebTitan prevents illegal activity such as gambling and P2P file sharing, blocks harmful content such as radical religious material, and complies with CIPA filtering guidelines (specifically, CIPA requires the blocking of images which are obscene or could be harmful to minors – for more information, see our Hotspot Policies).
How long can I check one out for?
Hotpsots go out for 7 days at a time. Overdue fines are $1/day beyond that. If the hotspot is three days late, its service will be turned off until it is returned.
